See Mayfield Lavender Farm

Set up in 2006 to help revive the historic lavender industry in the area, which boomed during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Mayfield Lavender is a 25-acre organic lavender field on an original Victorian site situated on the North Surrey Downs. Two varieties of English lavender are grown on the chalky soil; flowers are harvested and distilled to produce lavender oil. Visitors are welcome to wander the field and enjoy its scent and there is also a delightful Tea Rooms and a lovely gift shop to enjoy.

Tour Whitehall House

Only a stone’s throw away in the picturesque village of Cheam you will find the historic landmark Whitehall House. This Grade II listed house has been fully refurbished to offer visitors the opportunity to discover this incredible site with greater access than before. Built circa. 1500, this stunning Tudor House has been used as a council house, a schoolmaster abode as well as a private dwelling and allows visitors a glimpse of life in Cheam over the past 500 years. Whitehall House also offers a peaceful rear garden, an exciting program of activities and an acclaimed Tea Rooms.

Explore Richmond Park

The largest Royal Park in London and home to 650 deer, this pastoral landscape of hills and woodlands set amongst ancient trees, with plants, animals and butterflies, offers a peaceful respite to visitors. There is fishing available, together with horse-riding tracks and a cycling path for visitors to the park. The park also features plenty of eateries with refreshment kiosks located at main car parks, the Roehampton Café and Pembroke Lodge, a Georgian mansion with spectacular views and garden seating.

Visit Honeywood Museum

In the heart of the stunning Carshalton Conservation Area, you will find Honeywood Museum; a 17th century Grade II listed building overlooking the picturesque Carshalton Ponds. After a complete refurbishment in May 2012, it re-opened its doors with fully restored period features throughout. The exhibitions tell the fascinating history of the house and the people who lived there, along with the fascinating history of Carshalton and the Borough of Sutton. Not to miss is the Childhood Room, the lovely Tea Rooms and the Museum Shop. This family friendly museum is a must see and has an on-going diary of regular events for both adults and children.
